My Recipes

Hello again,  crafty friends!
How was your week? I am here, waiting for the end of the school year – just 4 more days. I can barely believe it! It will be a super busy summer, but I can't wait for it to start.
For my DEE DT post today, I wanted to share a little book I made for my favorite recipes… those you want to have a an arm's length when you're in the kitchen.

(excuse the picture with a "stain" on her little face, but I only noticed it w/ the flash of the camera)

I am super in love with coloring! I am no expert, and still have a lot to learn, but it's a super fun technique!

(I cut out the title with my Silhouette Cameo)

Hello crafty Friends!
Today is my day at Dilo en Español and I can't wait to share my project with you!

Have you started thinking about Father's Day yet? I've been thinking about what to get the hubbie for our little boy to give him. He loves golf and doesn't have a lot of time to play, so I decided to make him a special gift... a box with some new golf balls and a tag for the surprise that awaits him next month...

Walk the Plank

Happy Tuesday!!

I am so very EXCITED to be one of the newest members of the SVG Cutting Files design team!! I am honored to get this opportunity to work with Ann's amazing designs and the awesome group of talented ladies that are on the team!

For my very first project, I wanted to make a cute 'boy' card (with my own little man in mind). I've been in love with the Pirates Life file for quite some time...and thought what a great opportunity to finally use my Jaded Blossom V is for Villain stamp set as well. I used the Trapezoid Card Base file for my card, but altered the overlay to give it a different look...

I had a lot of fun with this card and hope you enjoyed it!

May the 4th be With you Blog Hop

May the 4th be with You!
Welcome to the annual Star Wars Blog Hop Party!
Our blog hop is sponsored by Jaded Blossom and SVG Cutting Files!  If you are an avid Star Wars fan, you will be thrilled with the Galactic projects the team has created!

Now if you came here from Barb, then you are in the right place! If not - you DON'T want to miss a single project, so start at the beginning with Candace.

And now for my project!

I absolutely LOVE this Lego Vader and wanted to make a gift using the Mini Bottle Carrier from SVG Cutting Files. The sentiments from Jaded Blossom's Candy Wars are absolutely perfect for this project! I also used the Jaded Blossom Flag Die and Candy Charms Die. I finished it off with some ribbon from Lovebug Creations and voilà! A gift for dad!

I used Ewok for my second project - isn't he cute?! I used the Double Candy Tube Holder from SVG Cutting Files and the Jaded Blossom 1x6 Clear Tubes to make this yummy, Raisinet-filled treat. The sentiment again is from Candy Wars stamped on the Flag Die - all from JB! Had to use my favorite ribbon again - rumple ribbon from Lovebug Cretions and here's how it turned out...

National Scrapbook Day - Project Life Tutorial

Hello again crafty friends!
Have you enjoyed all the projects and tutorials from the DEE designers?

Today, I have something special for you – a PL tutorial using only stamp so those of you without cutting machines can still make your own PL cards.

Something all crafters have a lot of is paper! In every color, size and pattern. The most important part in making your own cards is choosing a paper that goes with the theme you will follow - no more than 3 or 4 colors, and mixing the patters with the plain papers. Here I chose blues, reds, blacks and yellows.

I cut two different sizes out of every paper I chose:
3x4” and a 4x6”

Then I use my corner punch to round the corners (because they're prettier that way).
This is the one I have, but any punch will do.

Now you have cards w/ rounded corners. Above I told you to cut two of every paper and here is why....I play around with the colors/sizes until I have a combination I like. I always try to pay attention to not put two of the same color too close to one another...

Now comes the fun part!
Get out every stamp you think you might use, and then a few moreJ

You can see here that I've already colored and cut a few image stamps and have them ready to go (so I an see which color they will look best on). The next part may seem a little crazy, but I really do this for every page... I get out the stamps and start to put them where I think I might use them...and then I change them around again and again until I find where they will look best.
Note: Forget glue even exists for the images that are ready
(because you may want to move them later - I speak from experience)

So you can see my  madness a bit closer…

Something I always have on all of my pages is a title card. The good news is that you don't necessarily need a machine to make one. I used ‘Microsoft Word’ to print out something simple…

Then I gathered some extra paper and cut them into 1" strips
to help make something simple, pretty...

like this...

Here is what my completed page looks like,
just using stamps and paper I had at home…

A few close-ups…

What do you think? Do you think you can try your own PL cards now?
I hope I've inspired you to make your own page!

Thanks for stopping by!
