Do you ever shy away from things that are new to you? I do, when it comes to crafting. I guess in my head I'm worried I'll have no idea what I'm doing, but then again, do we ever?! :) That's how I felt when I found out the assignment for today's hop was a scrapbook page or a mini book. I have no problems with scrapbook pages, but I've been wanting to make a mini book forever now...so I finally did it! I wanted a place to keep a few recipes that I use often for cupcakes, icing, cookies, and other sweet treats.
I started by finding the cereal boxes I've been collecting just for this type of project, and cut them down to 4x6" rectangles (no fancy shapes with the cricut for my first try lol)
Then using my wonderful imagine (that collects more dust than I would like to admit), I cut out a few "kitchen" items - and very cute patterned paper - to make my cover. I added some ribbon (straight to the little wholes I made with the zutter, because I could SWEAR I had a notebook wire/coil at home and I didn't) and a little tag that says HAPPY EVERYTHING! - from My Pink Stamper's newest release Itty bitty-licious, because any occassion is a good occasion to bake something up!
Here's a quick close up!
I added one cut to the back, and curved a sentiment to "move" with the cookie bowl cut...and this is such a cute one for a Sweets Recipe Book (from My Pink Stamper's More Fabulous Phrases)....
There you have it, my first mini book! I'm looking forward to adding my recipes, and maybe some tabs in the near future! Thanks for stopping by! Your next stop is KARLEE!
I love this idea. It came out really nice to. I love how yu bound the sides with the red ribbon.
