Yummy!

Yup! I apparently can't stop making boxes from Sweet Tooth Boxes, but I really do think this is my favorite cartridge of all times!! I'm a baker, and a crafter, and this brings my two passions together! What could be better?! Today I decided to give the cupcake box a try, and it is absolutely adorable, and so easy to put together! The only thing I would change next time around is adding some glitter to the cherry and embossing the cupcake "wrapper" - for whatever reason, I tend to forget my Cuttlebug ALOT!

Happy Birthday Bugs Bunny!

Yup! Today is Bugs Bunny's birthday! In his honor, today's challenge at Cooking with Cricut is to use a rabbit/bunny in your card, layout or project of choice. Working on this challenge kind of made me REALLY want a Warner Brothers cartridge. How fun would that be?! Anyways, being that I am Disney's biggest fan, I'm surprised it took me this long to use my Disney Classics cartridge (and I am yet to use Best of Pixar), but I just had to use Thumper's image!

Bright and Fun with CJ2

For today's post, Tracy @ Craft Junkie Too asked us to make something "bright and fun". You can see the bright in the shades of green I used, but my intepretation of fun may be a little different than everyone elses, so I thought I'd give you an insight :) - fun to me is finally having a box cut that is a good size (not miniature) AND it's a 'take-out' box (not to mention I'm having way too much fun playing with the Sweet Tooth Boxes cart). Who ever thought a take-out box could be so girly?! Oh, and I'm becoming addicted to making these adorable flowers....but I promise I'll make many different ones when my Flower Shoppe cartridge arrives! lol

Lollipop Jumbo Tag

Today, the theme at Cooking with Cricut is lollipops! How fun! What I loved about this challenge was that it truly is a challenge!! There aren't too many lollipop cuts, so you truly have to get creative on this one! I made a jumbo gift tag. Where would I put it, you ask? Imagine this....a gift basket filled with goodies (magazines, spa socks, dvds, a bottle of wine and especially some sweet treats), wrapped with cellophane and tied with this jumbo tag. Can you picture it? Because I definitely didn't have the goodie basket, but in my mind, it looked awesome! :)

* This super, duper cute tag AND the lollipop are both from the Mickey & Friends cartridge. I loved how the tag wasn't your regular straight lines! Definitely more fun!!

My Pink Stamper Design Team Entry

My Pink Stamper is having a Design Team call and I am sooo excited to enter! On the last call I got an "honorable mention", but here's hoping to make it onto the team this go around (fingers crossed)!! For this project, we were asked to make a project of choice using the colors brown, orange, green and turquoise. I just received my Sweet Tooth Boxes in the mail last week, and have been dying to use it! You know I LOVE making cupcakes, so this is probably my favorite cartridge of all times!!! Here's how it turned out...

Cartridges: Sweet Tooth Boxes & Mother's Day Bouquet
Stamps: My Pink Stamper
Papers: Recollections & DCWV Animal Crackers Matstack

The house was cut at 7 1/2", but after assembly, I think I may cut it at around 9" next time. I used George & Basic Shapes to cut the "shingles" for the roof to give it a little more layers (I of course noticed one side was a tad bit longer than the other AFTER I uploaded my pictures - go figure! :)). The flowers were cut at about 1", .8" and .6" (on my Gypsy) and the curtains were hand cut.

Wish me luck!!!

It's a Wrap Blog Hop

Welcome to the It’s a Wrap Blog Hop hosted by Cool Beans By L.B. If you've just arrived from Scrap Obsessed, you're in the right place. If you're just stopping by for a visit, and would like to hop along, go to Cool Beans by L.B. to start at the beginning.

Do you like to receive gifts? How about give them? Well this hop is all about the outside…the wrapping; gift bags, boxes, baskets and more. There are 22 wonderful stops on this hop and we hope you will take some time to stop in and see everything we have created for you.

For my project I created a hand-made gift bag that would be just the right size - in this case, 5" high x 4" wide. It's perfect for knick knacks, jewelry, gift cards, etc. The flower layers were cut from the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge. It's a simple little bag, but I'd like to think it makes a statement! lol :)

Here's a little close-up of my flower...

Rays of Sunshine

Today at Cooking with Cricut we had to either use our cri-kit/chomas pens, or a sun cut. After going back and forth - because I am yet to use the cri-kit pens I bought months and months ago - I decided to go with the sun cut. As you can tell by the title, I was hoping to make the twine look like rays of sunshine. Did it work?! :)

It's all about the journey...

Last night, as I finished a few decorations for the Hello Kitty birthday party coming up, I decided to shift gears and finish an altered notebook I started a year ago. Yup! One whole year! And I've had no need for it, until now! Why now, you ask? Here's how it all started...

As I was blog surfing last night, I ran across THIS old post with information about a biography on paper back. I almost passed it by because I honestly don't need to know what's going on in Hollywood, but figured it wouldn't hurt to read what it was all about. Those three little paragraphs, on that little post caught my attention to the point of making me call Barnes & Nobles to see if they had it in stock. A few hours after reading the post, I had the book in my hands. I haven't been this excited about a book in a long time - given with an 18 month old running around, the thought of reading has just made me a bit drowsy lately lol - but the books talks about a healthy lifestyle physically and spiritually (both things that I have struggled with in the past).

What does all this have to do with my altered notebook?! lol I'm getting there! Some times when I read books of this sort, I like to not only take notes, but jot down thoughts. So I needed a notebook! My travel theme is not only for my love of traveling, but for a new journey I'm hoping to embark on because you know what they say... "It's not the destination, it's the journey!"

Is there a journey you'd like to embark on? Or something you've always wanted to accomplish? Or maybe that "what if" that's always been in the back of your mind? I'd love to read about it, if you have a moment to leave a comment...or shoot me an e-mail!

Kind of deep today, huh?! lol :)

Berry Special Invitations

Today is "Anything Goes" at Cooking with Cricut, and I thought I'd share something I've been working on....

My best friend's little girl is turning one and she asked me to make her invitations and decorations (yet to come)...and not only would I do just about anything for this girl, but when am I ever going to get to make girly party invites/decor with my little man?! lol She's throwing a Hello Kitty themed party, so I thought the strawberry on the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge would make some cute, but simple invites...but it needed something - so I added the little flowers, and we're good to go! They're getting mailed out today! :)

Bachelorette Card

A good friend of mine is getting married soon (on my 30th birthday, nontheless), and her bachelorette party is in less than 2 weeks! Since today was "Designer's Choice" at Craft Junkie Too, I thought I'd get a head start on her card...which is not like me AT ALL! But hey! Now its done, and all I have to do is go shopping for a gift :) I did have a lot of fun making this set! Everything - card, envelope and monogram - is from the Tie the Knot cartridge (which I've had forever and had not yet used). This would also make really cute invites!!
